Highlights of this cruise:
Singapore
Singapore is an island-state in Southeast Asia. Singapore City is by far the largest and most significant island alongside 63 others that make up Singapore state. Located at the mouth of the Singapore River, it is a modern, affluent city and the world's busiest port.
A blend of the ancient and modern can be seen from the gleaming skyscrapers to Chinese and Hindu temples. Combining a lush tropical climate, with tasty food, good shopping and a happening, vibrant nightlife scene, this Garden City makes a great stopover or springboard into the region.
Cochin
Kochi (formerly Cochin) is a major port city on the west coast of India by the Arabian Sea. It is a multicultural city with densely populated town areas.
The tourist season is normally from August to February. December being the most tourist rush month has many festival and special attractions to welcome along with the famous Cochin Carnival and Christmas celebrations. Onam season (mid Aug-mid Sept) is also a busy tourist season considering traditional line up of various festivities.
Attractons in Kochi include the Chinese Fishing Nets at Fort Kochi Beach, the Hill Palace Museum, Santacruz Basiclica and many other churches, forts and palaces. There are also many temples, shrines and mosques which are open to the public. The Kodanadu Elephant Training Village is extremely famous for its unique elephant training college, elephant orphanage and a mini zoo with deer and peacocks.
Mumbai
Mumbaī formerly known as Bombay, is the capital of the state of Maharashtra, and the most populous city of India. It is a city filled with excitement being home to India's Hindi film and television industry, known as Bollywood. Mumbai is the commercial and entertainment capital of India and has attracted migrants from all over India because of the immense business opportunities, and the relatively high standard of living, making the city a potpourri of various communities and cultures.
The city has a deep natural harbour and the port handles over half of India's passenger traffic and a significant amount of cargo. Mumbai is also one of the rare cities to accommodate a national park, the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, within its city limits.
Dubai
Dubai is one of the most modern cities in the world; this city was a fishing and pearling village less than 50 years ago. The architecture of its modern buildings and sky scrapers is the finest in the Middle East. Sightseeing within the city center is split mainly between Deira, on the right bank of the Dubai creek and historic Bur Dubai on the other bank. Deira, is home to the best shopping and is the business and commercial centre of the city. Bur Dubai has less of a bustling atmosphere and is home to a number of tourist attractions, including the Dubai Museum, Grand Mosque and Sheikh Saeed Al-Maktoum’s House.
